Breakdown
This project was made in Game Development 2 -
from January 2021 to April 2021.
I was lucky enough to have a particularly skilled team, and we were able to make something impressive in both quality and quantity - especially in just 4 months.
The core idea behind this project was to create something totally unique by twisting two genres together -
and the "DDRPG" was born.
By using a Dance Dance Revolution pad as our main controller, we limited ourselves to just four buttons, leading to both unique design challenges and unexpected affordances.
From the management side, I was able to really go all out, as this was a semester-long project. We planned things out early, and set clear, important milestones. I ran group meetings, set up tasklists for each member, organized version control, and kept everything running smoothly - though that isn't to say there weren't any hiccups along the way, especially since we were working in a hybrid fashion for the first time. Past my management responsibilities, I pitched in with programming whenever I had some spare time.
